Selecting the Right Location
The location of your portrait session is up to you! Most of my clients choose to showcase the natural beauty of our home state. For most of my sessions, outdoor, open-air environments are always our first choice. I love shooting in wide-open natural spaces because the light is divine, especially during golden hour. There are great options all around the state, so even if you've never seen me photograph in a specific spot before, I’m always up for exploring a new spot together!
Best NH Photo Session Locations
It depends on what you're looking for! Lakes- Echo Lake State Park in Conway NH (Cathedral Ledge is close by), Echo Lake State Beach in Franconia NH (Artist's Bluff close by), Ellacoya State Park in Gilford NH, Wolfeboro town docks. Mountains- Foss Mountain is an all time favorite in Eaton NH (bit of a hike). Rivers- Jackson Falls in Jackson NH and Diana's Bath is Conway NH. Ocean- Odiorne State park is beautiful and within a couple miles you have the option of beautiful cliffs and Wallis Sands beach. Waterfall- Castle in the clouds (all of the grounds are beautiful, including the pond, fields, and foliage)!
See some examples below!
Castle in the Cloud in Moultonborough NH
The castle is only a few miles up the street from me, but it's one of my favorite locations, no matter what time of year. Fall is certainly the most beautiful, but it's truly beautiful any time. Be sure to bring some quarters for the kids to feed the giant rainbow trout! There are also the falls, a short hike in.
Odiorne State Park/Wallis Sands Beach in Rye NH
At Odiorne Point State Park you can enjoy sweeping views of the ocean and rocky shore, and explorers can uncover evidence of the parks military history. Only a few miles up is the beautiful Wallis Sands Beach. Both locations are always stunning, especially for engagement sessions.
Foss Mountain in Eaton NH
Foss is a 0.9-mile out-and-back trail near Eaton Center, New Hampshire. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 31 min to complete. The views are stunning with mountain views and blueberries in the summer galore. Great for ANY session.
Echo Lake State Beach in Franconia NH
A picturesque lake that sits at the foot of Cannon Mountain and is surrounded by views of Mt. Lafayette, gorgeous any time of year as well. The hike up is a bit more difficult for littles, but it is stunning. The lake is an easy walk in.
Echo Lake in North Conway NH
Echo Lake State Park is a public recreation area in North Conway, New Hampshire, that features 15.7-acre Echo Lake and two rock ledges with scenic views, Cathedral Ledge and White Horse Ledge. An easy walk in with great views!
Chocorua Lake Chocorua NH
Chocorua Lake is a picturesque lake with commanding views of the summit of Mount Chocorua. Another easy walk in with stunning views any time of year!!
Albee Beach in Wolfeboro NH
This secluded and quiet beach offers swimming and picnicking on beautiful Lake Wentworth, I grew up coming to this beach!
